The world of art is a vast canvas filled with diverse strokes of creativity. Among the many artists who have left their indelible mark on this canvas, Nilesh Kinkale shines as a noteworthy contributor. Born in 1973 in Maharashtra, India. Kinkale embarked on his artistic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the prestigious college Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, graduating in 1997. His journey didn’t stop there, as he further honed his skills with a Master’s degree in Fine Art from the same institution in 1999. Kinkale’s artistic prowess is not limited to his academic achievements, his work has graced numerous exhibitions, biennales, and galleries, both solo and collective, from the show ‘‘Flux” at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, Miniature Postage Stamp Masterpieces (Thuk lagana Mana Hai)-Art Project of Nippon Art gallery, Mumbai & Bangalore. His works focuses on the objects of the past generation, people belonging to boomers II, Gen X will easily relate to these objects, for whom they were not just objects but an emotional attachment with people. Now due to modernization are buried under layers of dust, soil and the modern waste. These objects have their own stories right from how they are made to each and every person who uses it, right from a light emitting from a lantern to the separation of compartments of lunch box while eating, the whacking of typewriter, to the green and gold honking horn of a bus. These things have disappeared from our lives but whenever we see or hear about them they take us back to the golden era of simple life style of humanity. Nilesh’s works are mere depictions of his and all the contemporary’s lives, where not only people but objects played a vital role of emotions and have suddenly disappeared due to modernization.
He not only works as an independent artist but also has curated multiple shows and created a platform for multiple artist.
